Eriksson’s 1961 VW Bug
Owner: Petter Eriksson, Borlänge, Sweden.
Car: 1961 bug still in its sun bleached original color. The bug is equipped with a roll bar, Berg shifter, old Talbot type rear view mirror, Autometer gauges, line lock, lowered front end, BRM’s, 6″ M&H slicks (not in the picture).
Engine: 2007cc (78×90.5), Weber 48 IDA’s, forged Okrasa crank, Engle FK 8 cam, ported CB 044 heads, MSD 6 AL, 009 w/Pertronix Ignitor, GB “Equalizer” pulley, Berg throttle linkage, CR 9:1.
Transmission: Welded 3:rd and 4:th, Berg Pinion Support, Superdiff w/a poor mans posi.
Comments: Best ET: 9,2 @ 124 kph (78 mph) on the 1/8 mile with last years 1776cc engine. A new close ratio transaxle will be built this upcoming winter.
