Ekstöm’s 1956 VW Ragtop Oval
Owner: Pär Ekstöm, Borlänge, Sweden.
Car: A ‘56 rag top oval painted in black. The interior is stock reupholstered with TMI products, genuine EMPI GT steering wheel, Motometer “rally” panel and gauges, BRM’s.
Engine: 1776cc (69×90.5), Weber 40 IDF’s, 275° cam, genuine EMPI exhaust system, engine built by MOFOCO.
Transmission: Fully synchronized, stock from a 60’s bug.
Other information: US spec. ‘55 rear lenses will be fitted during the winter. Pär has also bought a 1914cc engine with a Gene Berg crank, ported 042 heads with 40×35.5mm valves, 10.8:1 CR, tall manifolds and 48 IDA’s. The engine is dyno’ed to 168hp (DIN).
